BCF and United Way Launch Planned Giving Program

To help build lasting, secure income for local nonprofits, the Bartlesville Community Foundation and the Bartlesville Regional United Way have partnered to provide planned giving services for area nonprofits. Technical resources for the services will be managed by The Advancement Group.

Nonprofits were invited to apply and join the partnership, and ten local organizations took advantage of the opportunity.

“We’re helping provide this because agencies don’t have the expertise, time or funding to have a planned giving department themselves,” BRUW CEO and Executive Director Jody Burch said. “This will help promote long-term sustainability for our local nonprofit community.”

“We are very excited to launch this partnership,” noted Shawn Crawford, BCF Executive Director. “Planned gifts have the potential to transform nonprofits and build a stronger Bartlesville.”

To kickstart this sustainability effort, the BCF and the BRUW are funding a Challenge Grant. By achieving planned giving goals, agencies will have the opportunity to earn grant funding now as well as receive legacy gifts later to strengthen their endowed income. Through the partnership, up to $200,000 in grant funding will be given to the qualifying nonprofits that meet their goals.

We have created a planned giving page that explains the program and provides resources for organizations and donors.
