CURRENT FUNDING FOCUS: Emergency Needs/Stabilization

The Emergency Needs & Stabilization Grant is intended to fill short-term, one-time needs for licensed childcare providers in Washington County, Oklahoma to help ensure community access to childcare following an unexpected operating expense.

Qualifying Emergency

The request must stem from a sudden, unavoidable circumstance occurring within the past 60 days that places the program at risk of temporary closure, capacity reduction, loss of enrolled children, or significant/unexpected loss of critical supplies. Examples include but are not limited  to:

  • Unexpected facility damage (storm, fire, plumbing, large appliance failure)
  • Required health and safety repairs identified by licensing inspection
  • Equipment failure essential to operation (refrigeration/freezer, sanitation, security, heating/cooling, vehicle (if transporting))
  • Safety-related compliance costs required to maintain license
  • Emergency capacity growth – increased available spots in your program as a result of a community change/need

Routine operating expenses (utilities, payroll, curriculum, etc.), subsidy advancement, predictable budget gaps, business assistance/financial relief, expansion projects, or long-term financial sustainability issues do not qualify.
