Kane Family (2008)
John Henry Kane arrived in Bartlesville in 1904 where he established a law practice and later was elected the first county attorney of Washington County after statehood. John H. Kane incorporated Phillips Petroleum Company and served as its general counsel and Executive Vice President.
With his wife Louise Miller Kane, the family supported many community organizations and causes. John H. was a member of the Commercial Club, president of Rotary Club, chairman of the Washington County Council on Defense, and raised financial support for relief during the flood of 1926 and to establish a Boy Scouts Council.
John and Louise had three sons, John Miller Kane, Robert Miller Kane, and Richard Kane. They continue to uphold the Kane family commitment to civic duty. They have impacted Bartlesville in the practice of law, ranching operations and oil and gas production. All serve on numerous civic and corporate boards, support education and health care service, and lend assistance to many non-profit agencies.
