It was our great honor and pleasure to announce George Halkiades as the 2024 Community Catalyst! 🎉
The Community Catalyst Award was established in memory of Charlie and Corky Bowerman as a tribute to their remarkable contribution and unwavering dedication to the advancement of our community. The award recognizes those who, like Charlie and Corky, demonstrate exceptional commitment to fostering a sense of service to the community, demonstrate commitment to nonprofits, demonstrate loyalty and a sense of responsibility, perform all actions ethically and with integrity, and drive change through inspiration and leadership.
George Halkiades has called Bartlesville home since 1963 and has been a dedicated community member and leader for numerous local organizations. He is currently involved in over ten organizations, including Bartlesville Rotary, Young Scholars of Bartlesville, Friends of the Library, and League of Women voters, to name a few. George’s commitment to our community has earned him numerous awards, including recognition at the BCF’s Legacy Hall of Fame in 2016.
He’s been described by the leaders of local nonprofits as “the glue that keeps the organization together”, “the embodiment of the servant leader”, “ready to lend a hand whatever the need”, “passionate about serving youth”, “quietly changing lives.” George is an active contributor to the mission of every nonprofit in which he’s affiliated.
