BCF Awards Spring Grants

The Bartlesville Community Foundation is pleased to announce their 2014 spring grant recipients. The Foundation awarded $30,000  from their Economic Development and Fund for Bartlesville grant funds.  “All of our grant applicants were outstanding, and we wish we could fund them all,” says Shawn Crawford, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We are working hard so we can provide even more grants.  This year’s recipients provided innovative and impactful proposals.”

All Bartlesville non-profits that meet the grant criteria are eligible to apply.  A grant committee comprised of board members and community volunteers review the applications according to the criteria and recommend the grants to fund.  The board of directors then approves the final grant amounts and recipients.

In the area of Economic Development, the Foundation awarded four grants to Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club, Paths to Independence, and Lowe Family Young Scholars. The Economic Development Fund seeks to support the charitable work of community nonprofits that help to improve the economic success of people in Bartlesville, especially those of moderate to low income. This can be achieved through direct support of individuals or initiatives that create access to crucial services like housing, transportation, health care, education, and job training.

The Fund for Bartlesville awarded four grants to Casa Hispana, Boys and Girls Club, Robots-4-Youth, and Paths to Independence. The Fund for Bartlesville seeks to support the charitable work of community nonprofits and to recognize excellence in addressing community needs.

The Bartlesville Community Foundation strengthens nonprofits through The Power of Together. The Foundation builds permanent endowments, manages grant and scholarship programs, supports new charitable endeavors, and offers educational opportunities to enhance nonprofits and donors’ philanthropic goals.
