Flash Philanthropy Returning to BCF

The Bartlesville Community Foundation will again be offering donors ages 21-40 a chance to make a major investment in a nonprofit in an easy, hands-on way with the return of its Flash Philanthropy program. Last year the program awarded $5,000 to Building Bridges.

“We are pleased to again offer Flash Philanthropy to engage young donors and to make a real impact in the community,” notes Shawn Crawford, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We hope to attract even more participation this year.”

Think of Flash Philanthropy as Kickstarter in reverse. A group of young donors will join together to find a project to grant the money they pledge. The Bartlesville Community Foundation will solicit and gather the grant applications and then allow those in Flash Philanthropy to choose their three favorite proposals. The three finalists will make a presentation to the entire group and then donors will decide which grant to fund. It’s a great way to become involved in a charity in a very personal way.

And it couldn’t be easier: make a pledge, learn how to evaluate the grant proposals, and then choose the project to support. You can help make Bartlesville a better place in a flash.

The Foundation will be hosting an information reception on Tuesday, September 16 at Indian Coffee Company. The event begins at 6pm. Anyone 21-40 is invited to attend. You can also receive more information about Flash Philanthropy from Shawn Crawford at (918) 337-2287 or contact us.
