LegacyHall of Fame to Honor Local Nonprofits

The Bartlesville Community Foundation (BCF) is pleased to announce details for the 15th annual Legacy Hall of Fame Gala. This year, the Foundation will recognize the legacies of two local nonprofit organizations: Boys and Girls Club of Bartlesville and OKM Music.

For the last fourteen years, the Foundation has recognized families whose impact spans generations. Now, the BCF expands the scope of the award to include organizations whose work follows the same purpose.

The Boys and Girls Club was originally incorporated as the Boys Club in January 1954 – the first in Oklahoma. It received its national charter in November of 1954. In its beginning and to this day, the Boys and Girls Club has been a tremendous effort of community collaboration for the benefit of area youth. In 2018 Boys and Girls Club finished the construction of a new state-of-the-art building in Bartlesville which has enabled them not only to continue but bolster their critical work of serving the youth who need them most.

“The impact of the Boys and Girls Club is simply unparalleled in our community. The BCF is humbled to recognize their work and excited to share their story through our Legacy Organization Award.” – Laura Jensen, BCF Executive Director

OKM Music, originally called OK Mozart International Festival, began in 1983. With the robust culture for the arts and home to an exemplary venue, Bartlesville Community Center (now called The Center), the Bartlesville community was a prime place to cultivate this iconic festival. The first festival was launched in June of 1985 and has featured many of the world’s finest performers in classical music. Over the years, guests from around the country have visited our community to enjoy the work of this organization and our community. Today, OKM Music hosts a festival that features musicians of many genres and has developed programming to introduce patrons of all ages to the joys of music.

“OKM Music’s history in our community is iconic. Their festival continues to expose patrons from near and far to the gems of our community. Today, they continue to positively impact the community through music performance, education, and outreach.” – Laura Jensen, BCF Executive Director

This year’s event will be held on May 20th, 2023 at The Center. Tickets can be purchased online at this link, by calling 918.337.2287, or in person at the Foundation office located at 208 E. 4th St. Bartlesville, OK 74003.
