The Bartlesville Community Foundation is a collection of endowed funds that benefit the charitable organizations, programs, and special projects of Bartlesville. By bringing funds together, the Foundation is able to provide administrative, investment, and grant making support for everyone while eliminating the need for individual donors to set up separate institutions. Because funds are endowed, donors create gifts that can last beyond their lifetimes.
The affiliate program of the BCF allows people to support specific areas of interest or geographic regions under the banner of the community foundation. The affiliate maintains its own board, its own funds, and awards grants. The BCF provides investment services, financial accountability, and other management expertise.
Planned Giving Partnership
In an effort to encourage overall fund development for local nonprofit agencies, by including planned gifts alongside annual fundraising and capital campaigns, Bartlesville Community Foundation and Bartlesville Regional United Way launched the Planned Giving Partnership in September 2014. The program is designed to encourage agencies to consciously build endowment gifts through planned giving. Eleven agencies have joined the partnership and together have raised nearly $3 Million in planned gifts.
Flash Philanthropy is a program of the Bartlesville Community Foundation that encourages young donors to immerse themselves in the charitable giving process.Think of Flash Philanthropy as Kickstarter in reverse. A group of donors join together by each pledging at least $500 and then seek to find a project to grant the money.
The Bartlesville Community Foundation serves local non-profits in two main ways. Organizations can begin a non-profit fund. BCF also provides advice and mentoring to local non-profits.
The Bartlesville Community Foundation provides educational workshops for the benefit of local non-profits, board members and donors. Stay tuned for upcoming workshop opportunities.
