Carol Lewallen Memorial Scholarship

Carol Lewallen Memorial Scholarship

Carol Lewallen (center) & her daughters

Carol Jean (Upton) Lewallen never had the opportunity to attend college, but she lived an amazing life.  Carol loved traveling, playing and listening to music, watching old movies, dancing, laughing and painting. She visited many beautiful places. A self-taught musician, she played the guitar and piano. At the age of 60, Carol decided to take violin lessons and was proud to be in the 2nd string violin section of the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra just two years later. She entertained many groups as part of a small string ensemble and performed regularly at her church. Her love of music and art heavily influenced the lives of all who knew her, especially her children and grandchildren.  This scholarship seeks to support women like Carol who are interested in the arts and willing to create their own unique path.
