Kay Sneary Boltz Women in STEM Scholarship

This scholarship is for graduating female students of Bartlesville High School who are planning to pursue an undergraduate degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math). The scholarship is intended for students of good character who excel in academics and have significant financial need. FAFSA financial need must be greater than or equal to $16,000 annually, based on in-state public college cost.

Award Details: 

Up to $15,000 payable as 50 percent per semester as long as a 3.25 cumulative GPA is maintained. Subject to available funds, recipients may renew their award for up to three more consecutive years with the condition that they have maintained a 3.25 GPA, are taking a full-time course load leading to a STEM degree, and are still in need of financial assistance. Arts degrees or education degrees in STEM are not eligible.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Graduating female senior who upon graduation will have completed at least the last 3 full semesters at Bartlesville High School
  • U.S. citizen with no felony conviction
  • Lives in Bartlesville Public School District boundaries
  • Unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Planning to attend a 4-year accredited university in person and pursue a bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • Financial need (FAFSA financial need, which will be defined as Cost of College Attendance minus SAI number, must be greater than or equal to $16,000 annually. Cost of College Attendance will be the higher of OU or OSU projected cost for tuition, books, fees, room and board.) For renewals, if financial need drops below $15,000, the renewal award amount will be  lowered to the financial need amount.
  • Well-written essay listing up to 3 accomplishments relating to STEM
  • Well-written essay stating the STEM area you plan to focus on and why
  • Extra consideration for students in a school or community musical group or proficient on a solo instrument

Required Addendums:

  • Two letters of recommendation from unrelated adults
  • First page(s) of FAFSA Submission Summary, up to and including the Student Aid Index number. Refer to FAQs for more information.
