Gerstenkorn Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students who are graduating from a high school in Washington County. The students must have shown consistent academic effort and wish to continue their education but lack the finances to do so and want to avoid significant financial loan debt. The students must be planning to attend college or university and pursue a degree in the field of agriculture, medical/nursing, or mental health field. Recipients may apply to renew their scholarship for subsequent semesters.

Award Details:

Up to $5,000 payable as 50 percent per semester for two semesters. Recipients may reapply in the general applicant pool for future semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduating senior of a high school in Washington County
  • Unweighted high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Planning to attend a college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in the field of agriculture, medical/nursing, or mental health
  • Well-written essays, explaining why you chose your field of study
  • Must display financial need

Required Addendums:

  • Two letters of recommendation from unrelated individuals
  • First page(s) of FAFSA Submission Summary, up to and including the Student Aid Index number. Refer to FAQs for more information.
  • Official high school transcript
